Another challenge down! This week's challenge is a classic - the spritz and flick as found on page 42 of Tim Holtz's book, A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol 2. Every week Linda at the blog Studio L3 picks a different technique out of the book. Then we link up our project there and have a chance to win a great prize! This week the prize is a gift certificate at Simon Says Stamp. Without further ado, here is the card I made using this technique for the green background:
Now this card has a little secret. There is a zipper tab (where it says "open") that you tear back to reveal the sentiment. How cool is that!? It's a die from Papertrey Ink - the zipper die from the Movers & Shakers collection. (I want them all!) You can see a demo of the die here (can you tell I'm very enthusiastic about it?) Enjoy the rest of your week and go to Studio L3 and check out all the cool stuff folks have been creating!

New July Sketch Challenge!
Hello, it's that time again! The sketch challenge for July is up and running over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles. Cara picked a great sketch for this month and if you complete a challenge based on it (and link it up over at SEM) you'll be eligible for the drawing of a $30 Gift Certificate to Ormolu. Here is my layout based on the sketch:
And here is the sketch:
I took a few liberties but that's what it's all about right? ;-) Go on over to SEM and check out all the details! We'd love to see your projects.

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge
Well, I missed a few of the Compendium of Curiosities Challenges over at the Studio L3 blog but I've been waiting for the current one! I have been wanting to make a Tim Holtz configurations box for the longest time and this challenge was the push I needed to just get it done. I chose a sewing theme (I want to do a Christmas themed one too but that's another project.) Tim explains how to line and put together the configurations box on pages 33 & 34 of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2. The comes the fun part of filling the boxes! I hope you enjoy mine - it's going to go live on my sewing cabinet.
Be sure to go check out the boxes that others are posting on the Studio L3 blog. There are lots of really great ones there for your inspiration!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge #18!
Hello everyone! It's challenge time over at SEM! The July challenge is all about Created Beauty. Scrap about the things you see around you, everyday, that remind you
that God created everything. I chose a field trip we took to visit some tidepools in our area. It is amazing what you will find living there and how beautiful it is. God is so creative! Be sure to go over to Scrapping Everyday Miracles and see what the other DT did for their examples. You'll be inspired and you can link up your own take on the challenge for a chance to win a great prize.
Journaling on the pull out tag reads:
We had to get up really early to make the drive to Santa Cruz and get there in time for low tide. It was worth it though! This was one of the lowest of the year and lots of pools were uncovered. The kids had a blast discovering the myriad of God's creatures that made their homes there.
