Father's Day Card with Darkroom Door

Father's Day is coming right up! I finished the last card I need today. Whew! I like not being last minute. ;-) I used the Tool Shed stamp set from Darkroom Door and a bunch of Tim Holtz products:

The background is stamped with a wood grain pattern and I also embossed some card stock with the Rulers embossing folder (along with adding copper embossing powder to the raised areas). I stamped a manila tag with various Distress Ink colors and all those great tool stamps from the Tool Shed stamp set.

Topflight Stamps is having a flash sale on masculine stamps that is running through TONIGHT, 12am EST (June 8th) I'm just catching the tail end of the sale, but if you hurry you can take advantage of it still. ;-)

Mixed Media Monthly June Challenge – A Year of Choices

It's Mixed Media Monthly's 3rd birthday and the challenge is to look back at the year's challenges and redo one with a new twist! For mine, I chose #32 - Put a Stencil On It:

I just can't resist steampunk and I have quite a collection of gear stencils (and dies, and stamps, and embellishments…) But back to the stencils, I stenciled the inside of the box with a Tim Holtz mini gear stencil and the outside with gold embossing paste and a Dreamweavers stencil. The funny flying guy is a Deep Red stamp.

I layered lots of gear diecuts (cut from chipboard and colored with metallic Distress Stain) to make sure you know it's steampunk (ha ha) The wheel actually turns but with finger power and not real clockwork power. ;-)

I had fun making my little faux clockwork decoration. We would love to see you join in and share your projects with us. Head on over to the challenge post and take a look at the Design Team inspiration (and our new blog look)! Our sponsor this month is Donna Downey and she is generously donating a $50 gift certificate to her online store. Thank you Donna!

I am also going to enter this into the SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenge for June - anything goes. Check out what they have going on there - always lots of lovely art to see. ;-)

Topflight Stamps…More Father's Day!

Hello, I'm back with another Father's Day card made with stamps from Topflight Stamps. Would you believe that I used the same Joy Crafts stamp set that I used for the Camping card I shared earlier in the month?

It is a different spin isn't it? ;-) I created a background with marbled Distress Paint and then did an image transfer over it using a beef diagram graphic I printed out. Together they set the perfect stage for the BBQ stamp elements and diecut.

Well, I have one more Father's Day card to make and then I'll be set. It's not even June yet! I love being ahead of the game lol. I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

The Topflight Stamps blog is getting off to a good start. Check it out to see designer projects and get store updates. New stamps are coming in all the time. Also, there is a huge sale this weekend on the new and improved website!
