More DCWV with Eileen Hull

Hello, Eileen Hull's Inspiration Team is teaming up this month with DCWV for a little holiday blog hop! All month long we've been treated to a plethora of beautiful and inspiring projects on Eileen's and the DCWV blogs. Last week I shared this card made using DCWV papers and now I'm sharing another project made using the Cranberry Christmas Paper Stack.

It's a birthday present for my Mother-in-law. She wants to keep up on what's happening with us now that we've moved so I thought a little box of photo cards would be perfect! (She loved it!) I used Eileen's Recipe Card Box and matching Recipe Cards to easily put it all together. For a bonus, I'm sharing a tried and true way to stretch your dies farther and all you need is a sheet of fun foam from the craft store.

I applied an adhesive sheet to a piece of fun foam and die cut it using the Doily Die. Peel off the adhesive paper and stick the foam shape onto a piece of scrap plastic (like from packaging). Now you can use it as a stamp! Use either ink or paint. Here I used a brayer to apply a thin layer of white acrylic paint to the foam and then stamped it on my box. This is a great technique to keep in your bag of tricks. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to head on over to Eileen’s blog and check out all the holiday inspiration the team has been sharing this month. The DCWV team has been knocking it out of the park too so give them a look! We’d love to have you share your projects on Eileen's Facebook page as well.

The supplies I used for this project can be found at Sizzix or Simon Says Stamp. Follow the links below and a shopping you may go. ;-)

New Eileen Hull eBook release!!!!!

This project has been in the works for a long time and it is finally out for all to see today!!

Hello!! I have exciting news for you today! Eileen Hull and Bella Crafts Publishing have put together a brand new eBook featuring projects from the Inspiration Team, plus many other talented creative artists. This book is stuffed full of over 100 projects for your inspiration. Most have instructions and there is a huge gallery section to really jump start your creativity. That little needlebook on the cover is mine and I have several projects included inside. What an honor!

For a short time, they are offering the eBook for the super low price of only $2.97. How can you pass up that price? It would cost you more to go buy a coffee at Starbucks! ;-) This price is good until Cyber Monday, so grab a copy while you can. Click on the image above or the text link below to purchase the book. I will get a small percentage of the sale so thanks for your support!

And while we're talking of Sizzix, they have an amazing Black Friday sale going on right now with crazy low prices on so many dies! This is the perfect time to stock up on Eileen's dies or any others. I've been known to buy a bunch this time of year and hand them over to my husband to wrap up for me for Christmas. (I know, it's terrible LOL!) Click on the graphic below to go shopping!

Thanks for being a follower of my blog and I hope I can continue to inspire you. I have all sorts of cool projects in my head and I'm finally getting more settled in our new home so I'm hoping to get in more creative time. We will see…

He's 13!!!!!!

First, the big news. Today my first born is THIRTEEN YEARS OLD! How did that happen? I can't believe I have a teenager now. It is so exciting to see him growing up into such a fine young man. He is an all star, and a rockstar so I had to make him an appropriately smashing birthday card to celebrate such a momentous milestone.

The Luggage Tag makes a great little frame!
Thanks Tracy Evans for the inspiration. ;-)

Secondly, Eileen Hull's Inspiration Team is teaming up this month with DCWV for a little holiday blog hop! I'm a rebel and didn't make something Christmas themed but I think Greg's birthday is a holiday (at least for our family lol). Besides, I wanted you to see that you don't have to be limited by the official "theme" of your supplies. I used the DCWV Modern Metallic Stack and chose a page that was white with a foiled design. I misted it with Twisted Citron Distress Stain and the foiled parts acted as a resist (very cool effect!) I also splattered it with turquoise mister and spritzed with water to make it bleed a bit.

Using Eileen's Stitchlits dies, I cut stitching holes into the card background. These are handy little dies that let you put holes anywhere in your project and you can then create perfect decorative stitches. I stitched with a lightweight cotton yarn.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to head on over to Eileen’s blog and check out all the holiday inspiration the team has been sharing all month long. The DCWV team has been knocking it out of the park too so give them a look! We’d love to have you share your projects on Eileen's Facebook page too. Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving.

The supplies I used for this project can be found at Sizzix or Simon Says Stamp. Follow the links below and a shopping you may go. ;-)

November Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #30

Wow, where did October go?? I can't believe it's already November now and we have a new challenge for you over at Mixed Media Monthly! We want to see your projects inspired by the colors in our challenge graphic. The design team has been busy as usual, and wait until you see what they've all come up with. We also have a guest designer, Suzanne Czocek, and she has a lovely project for us to oogle! Our sponsor this month is The Funkie Junkie Boutique and they are offering a prize package to our random winner. All you have to do is join in the challenge for a chance to win.

For my project, I created a jumbo tag inspired of course by the challenge colors. This is my "I'm so thankful that we moved to Idaho" project. (Did I mention that we love it here?)

I utilized the faux batik technique for the background stamping so it would have a misty, textured look. It reminds me of some of the beautiful sunrises and sunsets we've been seeing here. I stamped and embossed the trees in two different colors of green embossing powder. Some clear crackle texture paste adds some nice distressing around the edges. At the bottom, I glued a piece of birch bark from my stash to a piece of cardstock and then die cut the scalloped edge. A few embellishments and Remnant Rubs complete the look!

Be sure to head on over to the MMM blog to see all the inspiration by the design team and our guest designer. Join in our challenge and you will have a chance to win a gift pack from the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

The supplies I used for this project can be found at Sizzix or Simon Says Stamp. Follow the links below and a shopping you may go. ;-)
