I seem to have this just under the wire deadline stuff down pretty well. ;-) I finally finished my card for the Faux Cracked Glass challenge over at the Studio L3 blog. You would not believe all the fun projects over there for this challenge! You really should go check it out. The technique is from page 54 of Tim Holtz's book, A Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 3. I made a Father's Day card for my husband (getting down to the wire for that too!)
I cut the bell jar out of clear plastic and used the cracked technique on it. My husband is a big fan of puns so he'll appreciate this card. On the inside the question is, "How did you get to be so wonderful?" I'm all mushy like that. =)
Many thanks to The Funkie Junkie Boutique for sponsoring this challenge. Link up your project in this challenge and you can have a chance to win a great prize from them.
Thanks for stopping by. Most of the supplies I used
for this card can be found at Inspiration Emporium. Follow the links below and use my code JUICE at Inspiration

that US shipping

Industrial Sea Artist Trading Cards…
… otherwise known as ATCs! Yes, more of these bewitching little 2.5 x 3.5 inch pieces of art. They are so addicting, beware! ;-) I am inspired by the ocean these days and have been busy making all sorts of sea-themed projects. (and leading up to a mega, super cool project, but more on that later) What could be better than a sea theme merged with steampunk? Not much!
The backgrounds were created using the Eroded Metallic technique from Tim Holtz's book, A Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 3 and then embossed. The elements were all cut out of foil sheet covered chipboard and then colored with alcohol inks. The "sand" is Finnabair's Art Ingredients Glass Glitter mixed with Glossy Accents and applied with a palette knife. I love the grungy steampunk look all the elements add.
Now, you might be wondering why one of them is in a little box. For months, I have thinking about, collecting stuff for, and slooooowly working on a Configurations Book that will have a nautical steampunk theme! When I finally get this thing done it will knock your socks off, I promise! (I'm jazzed about it, can you tell?) The "box card" is one of the compartments that will be in it. Stay tuned and your patience will pay off. I'll get it done yet! ;-)
I am also entering this into the Mixed Media Monthly June challenge under the New To You category. I haven't done a Configurations Book before and the glorious Glass Glitter is brand spanking new to my art supplies and I looove it! Gorgeous stuff! Be sure to go check out the challenge, there is lots of inspiration there!
