Favorite Things Challenge

Hello everyone, it's that scrappy time of the month again  - the Scrapping Everyday Miracles July challenge is live! (and can I just note that I'm having a hard time believing June has evaporated already. Where did it go??! Must be the heat!) This month we have a really fun challenge going on, called "These Are A Few of My Favorite Things". It can be about anyone and their favorites. I chose to feature my oldest son and his all-abiding love of Lego. He LOVES them! See for yourself:

This guy saves up his money and buys more Legos so we have bins of them everywhere! He builds really cool things of his own design and is super creative with them though. That's my boy!

This is a hybrid layout. I composed the type in Adobe Illustrator, leaving a spot where the photo would go. The twist this month is to use office supplies in your layout so I had some fun with that. For the background texture I wrapped a piece of bubble wrap around an acrylic block and used that to stamp on the background with acrylic paint. Other supplies are used as embellishments - staples, paperclips, shipping tags and a label maker (to make the Lego Love text). We would love to see what you can create with this theme! You have until the end of the month to link up your project on the SEM blog and have a chance to win the great prize our sponsor Pure Painted Signs has donated. Head on over to SEM and check out the details!

Many of the supplies I used for this layout can be found at Inspiration Emporium. Follow the links below and use my code JUICE to save 10% if you go shopping.
