Window to the Sea Artist Trading Cards

Last month I shared some ocean-themed steampunk ATCs and my plans to incorporate one of them into a Configurations Book. It's coming together in bits and pieces and I want to share another little "ATC" section today:

I love covering cardstock with foil sheets and embossing them (this is what I did with the Riveted Metal background). The design is really crisp. I aged it by covering it with Black Soot and Vintage Photo Distress paints and then wiping away most of it with a baby wipe. The paint stays in the nooks and crannies.

I wanted the port hole glass to look crackled so I first covered a piece of scrap plastic with Multi Medium and let it dry, then added a layer of Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. If you put the crackle paint on without the base layer of medium it just flakes off when it's dry. Not good! So these are pretty straightforward cards but I love the look of them. Stay tuned for more parts of my mega nautical steampunk Configurations Book project! I'll get it all done hopefully sooner rather than later. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by. Many of the supplies I used for this project can be found at Inspiration Emporium. Follow the links below and use my code JUICE at Inspiration Emporium to save 10% if you go shopping there. I will also point out that US shipping is always $5 and international shipping is just $10 at IE. ;-)

  1. Gorgeous Lisa, love the texture from the embossing and the image looks perfect in the circle aperture. Hugs, Tracy x
