Well, this has been quite a class! I'm very glad I took it; I've learned quite a lot over the two weeks. I managed to complete the remainder of the tags. Hip - hip hurray! Here they are:
Day 8: Paint Dabber Resist, Crackle Paint Resist, Shattered Stains
Day 9: Perfect Splatter Distress, Perfect Distress, Perfect Distress Mist
Day 10: Rock Candy Distress Stickles (same technique on both tags)
Well, I'm still a bit behind but having lots of fun! Here are the tags we did for days 6 and 7:
Day 6 was playing with his new Distress Markers. I really like them and the effects you can get with them. You can blend them on paper and color directly on the stamp.
Day 7 was all about techniques using embossing powders. I already new these but still picked up some helpful tips. I'm learning so much in this class!
Well, more to come! I'm hoping to get some more crafting in tonight. Guess I'd better do the dishes first, lol.
I'm taking a really fun online class right now and learning all sorts of new techniques to get even more use out of my Tim Holtz supplies! We've finished the first week already and I'm still trying to get caught up with making the sample tags. I'm having a blast though. =) (And I'll make this short and sweet since I want to go work on more tags, LOL.) Here are the first 3 days worth of lessons:
Day 2 (first day we started the techniques):
Day 3:
Day 4:
It's not too late to join the class I believe. Once you pay for the class, all content will be available online for you forever and you can go through the video lessons at your own pace. Enjoy!
We have another great sketch challenge posted over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles! I'll make you go over there to get the sketch (bwahahahaha… it's a good one!) but here is the layout I did based on it:
If you enter this challenge and link up your creation on the SEM post, then you will have a chance to win some great prizes from our sponsors! (Two this month!!) Thanks for looking!
The Design Team members decided to highjack the Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog today to wish our fearless leader, Nicole, a happy birthday so today's card was created with her in mind. Without any further ado, let me say…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NICOLE!!!!!!!!!
We would love for you to join us by hopping to our different blogs in celebration!! Hey, you never know what you may find! Some DT are offering RAKs and if you comment on the SEM blog then you get a chance to win a $10 gift card to Paper Issues. There is also a 30% off code you can find there (so make sure to stop by!)
Also, make sure that you stop back by SEM's blog on Monday, the 19th for a sketch challenge that Jeannine will be posting and of course more chances to win a prize from our sponsor Dot & Whimsy.

The next blog in the hop isJeannine. Thanks for looking and playing along!
I'm working on getting caught up in scrapping the boys' birthdays. Here we have Greg's first "friend" party which was a blast:
Some of you are hopping from Creative Chaos (you know who you are!) in celebration of CC's 5th birthday. Welcome!! As a reward for coming by, you have a chance to win valuable prizes. But, you have to work for it, LOL! You must leave me a knock-knock joke down in my comments. My now 8-year old (a true connoisseur of knock-knock jokes) will judge which is the best joke and I will send you something fun and scrappy. If you're just happening by and you leave a really stellar joke, I just might consider awarding a second prize. *wink*
Well it's that time again – time for a new Scrapping Everyday Miracles challenge! This month the challenge is to pick a word that describes you and scrap about it. My word is "creative" and here is my layout:
Journaling reads: Boy, trying to decide what one word describes me is tough! I was leaning towards “nuts” because that is the way I feel these days, but a friend suggested that when she thinks of me, the word “creative” comes to mind. Upon reflection, I think that is more accurate (no comments from the peanut gallery!) Sometimes I feel like a nut and sometimes I don’t but I almost always feel creative, so I’m going with that! Traditionally (and my favorite way) to use my creativity is through artistic pursuits, but God is working on me with a lot of out of the box thinking lately so I’m getting creative about many aspects of life. I am so thankful that He has made me the way He did and is willing to work with me the way I am!
So be sure to stop by the SEM blog. Link up your own layout by the end of the month and you'll have a chance to win a prize from our generous sponsor!
