Happy Thanksgiving!!

It is almost upon us, the family gathered around the table and loads of yummy food! I am so thankful for my family and all the blessings we have. Life can be awfully hard but I have so much to be thankful for. One of the things I'm thankful for is my paper crafting hobby!! Last year Tim Holtz had these great Quirky Turkeys on his blog and I didn't have time to make them (or the die I think). This year however I got some done! My hope is to make some more to decorate the table tomorrow (and give to those family members who would care to have them), but at least I have three done. =)

I also used this technique to make the leaves, although I didn't do the gilded part. The alcohol ink on the glassine works great though. I am also entering these in the November Inspiration Emporium challenge. Go check out the great projects they have linked up there! Happy Thanksgiving everyone and remember to count your blessings.

Compendium of Curiousities 2 challenge #26

Two challenges in a roll! Woo hoo!! I wanted to make a card for a friend who just beat cancer (praise the Lord!!) She has been through so much but is now okay! We are celebrating. The CC challenge over at Linda's blog Studio L3 was the perfect opportunity. Each week she features a technique out of the pages of Tim Holtz's book A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2. This week it was Crumpled Kraft Suede on page 40. I incorporated the "suede" as the green background paper behind the flowers and shapes:

This week there is a prize hosted by The Funkie Junkie Boutique. I encourage you to go look at all the cool artwork people have been linking up at Studio L3. It's inspiring!
