Halloween Tunnel Book with Eileen Hull & Tim Holtz

Howdy Eileen fans! I've been working on this tunnel album project all month long and I've finally finished it just in time for Halloween. Whew! The album is made using Eileen's Handbound Journal and Tunnel Arches Dies. I filled it with tons of Tim Holtz Halloween dies, stamps and stencils. Check out all the details below:

Get Inky with Topflight Stamps!

This week at Topflight Stamps our product focus is on Ink – Topflight Stamps carries an array of fab ink pads for all your stamping needs!

I am a huge fan of the Lavinia Elements ink pads. They blend beautifully and there are so many wonderful colors! I used those to make the blended background (don't forget the blending brushes). I also used them (Lime Punch & Russet Orange) to stamp the webs and text. The raven I stamped with Clair Nocturne. A little splatter of Red Hot Poker Orange from the Lindy's Autumn Leaves spray collection added a bit of glimmer.

Halloween Mini Book with Eileen Hull

This month Eileen Hull's Creative Team is making projects using her new Home Sweet Home Collection but with a Fall/Halloween twist! I made this cute little Halloween mini book using the "center cuts" from from my forest tunnel album project, some cute Stampotique stamps from my stash and other die cuts. Take a look:

Halloween with Topflight Stamps

This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Fall/Halloween" and I'm back with another card to share.

I stamped onto metallic card stock with WOW! embossing ink and the Lavinia Fairy Web stamp – then heat embossed with black embossing powder. The main card panel features more stamping with the Fairy Web stamp plus the jack-o-lantern focal image from the Woodware Carved Pumpkin stamp set.

Hocus Pocus Halloween Card with Topflight Stamps

This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Fall/Halloween". The season is definitely changing around here! I opted for a Halloween themed card. Topflight Stamps has recently begun carrying mists from Lindy's Stamp Gang and I wanted to make another card using them. (See last week's fall card.) 

I used a Lavinia stencil (Laurel) to apply glow texture paste to a thick multi-media cardstock. When it was dry, I spritzed it with Smoky Sapphire Moon Shadow Mist and water. I loved how it pooled around the texture paste leaves. I also splattered it with some metallic purple acrylic paint. I layered fussy cut mushrooms (Hobby Art stamp set - Fungi), cheesecloth and die cut leaves (AALL & Create die set - Rustling Retreat) over the background.

It glows in the dark! So cool!

I pulled out the handy Distress Plaid Paper Pad from Creative Expressions for the background. (Love that paper!) I also love the funky die sets from AALL & Create so I included several bits cut using the SkyCrossed Paradise set.

Mixed Media + Halloween with Topflight Stamps

Hello, this week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Mixed Media". I love using "all the things" so this is right up my alley! I'm in Halloween crafting mode so I chose to make an appropriately themed card.

The background is a Gel Press print to which I applied texture paste through a PaperArtsy Mini Stencil, then sprinkled with Oiled Slate WOW Embossing Powder. Once the paste was dry, I heat embossed the powder. I layered on die cuts, fussy cut Katzelkraft stamped images and fabric.

Spooky Time with Topflight Stamps

Or not so spooky ha ha. Hello, this week our Topflight Stamps focus is Halloween and Fall themes. The Halloween cards I created fall more into the "cute" category instead of spooky.

I experimented with using the Carabelle Studio mask The Halloween House to make some different backgrounds. For two of them I spritzed spray stains through the mask and on the third I used the inky mask to make a monoprint.

I picked my two favorites to make cards out of. The AALL & Create die set I used is SkyCrossed Paradise (so many great details you can cut with this set!) The star of the card is the super cute little witch cat, a PaperArtsy Zinis mini stamp. I watercolored it and fussy cut out the image.

Trick or Treat! – Halloween Box with Eileen Hull Sizzix Dies

Hello Eileen Hull fans! This month all the designers on Eileen's Teams have been making a variety of project with fall and Halloween themes! We've had so much creative inspiration to share. For my make, I used the Slotted Treat Box Die as the shell for my Halloween diorama. The festive outside opens up to even more festive party inside…

I wanted to focus on a vintage Halloween party vibe inside. Eileen's Slotted Treat Box Die (a Plus die) is so roomy I could fit all sorts of fun bits and pieces in it.

I cut an extra piece of mat board and glued it in to make a shelf. The little banner is cut using a retired die set of Eileen's - the Banners & Pennants set.

I don't have too many photos of the process because I got in a groove and went to town. Here are a few peeks though.

I cut all my box parts out of mat board first and then covered the box with patterned paper afterwards. Usually it's easier to adhere the paper to the mat board and then cut the pieces, but I used so many different papers that would have been very tricky!

I built up layers with die cuts and foam tape.

It was so much fun going through my stash of Idea-ology and other bits to decide what to put inside. I love making little scenes! =)

Funkie Junkie Focus – "Mixed Media Madness" Halloween Style!

Hello Funkie Junkie fans! Our theme this time is "Mixed Media Madness" and I gave my project a Halloween twist with childhood memories.

There is a photo of little four year old me dressed up as a witch! My mom would always sew the best costumes for my brother and I so I wanted to pay homage to those memories (and my Mom's crafty skills!)

Step 1 – I started by decoupaging pieces of old sewing pattern tissue onto a blank canvas.

Step 2 – I added some Distress Black Opaque Texture Paste through the new Spellbound Layering Stencil. When it was dry, I spritzed it with Distress Mica Spray.

Because I had decoupaged the pattern pieces onto the canvas, it was basically "sealed". The Mica Stains work best on porous surfaces so I had to spray it all with a coat of workable fixative to keep the stain from rubbing off. The fixative worked great!

Step 3 – I scanned the front of a vintage sewing pattern package from my collection. After printing it out, I assembled bits of Tim Holtz Halloween fabric and stitched them together

Step 4 – More layers! I added some more Texure Paste and Mica Spray over the pattern layer.

Funkie Junkie Focus – "Make a Scene" Halloween Display Globe

Hello Funkie Junkie fans! Our theme this time around is "Make a Scene" so I decided to create a Halloween "snow globe". When the new Idea-ology Display Globe was debuted I was pretty excited because I love snow globes!

There are no mystical techniques used in this project, but here are a few "in progress" photos.

I glued several Mischievous cat die cuts together to make a thicker "cat" and glittered it with Nightfall Distress Glitter (seasonal release from a past year).

With a craft knife, I cut the middles of the letters out of the "EEK!" die cut from Big Frights so I could have the cat stepping through.

There you go! I'm looking forward to make a Christmas project using the Display Globe (or several) so subscribe to my Instagram account to see.
