Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2014 - June

I'm doing pretty well this month, this isn't even last minute! ;-) This month Tim showed us a really fun technique for using stencils and Distress ink to make a watercolor looking background. You can see all the details HERE. I've been using this technique quite a bit lately. It's easy and a great twist to using your stencil collection a little differently. As usual I made the tag following Tim's design fairly  closely and then applied the technique to a companion project. Here is my tag:

I made a birthday card for my nephew who is turning three. He is very much into superheros at the moment so I made him this Pop 'n Cuts card:

The interior reveals the popping up action:

Celebrate!!

Yesterday we got to help celebrate the happy occasion of our good friends adopting the most adorable little boy. They will be great parents and have waited a long time for this moment. We are so happy for them! I made a fun Pop 'n Cuts card to give them.

I wanted the card cheerful and fun and not babyish (he is almost three). I had a pad of October Afternoon's Rocket Age paper that I love and thought would be perfect for the card. It's a line from a few years ago but you can probably still find it around. The robot stamps and QuicKutz rocket die I've had in my stash for a while too.

I want to remind you about the Inspiration Journal May challenge "Celebrate!" You have until the end of the month to link up your project for a chance to win $50 to spend at Inspiration Emporium. (A cause for celebration for sure!)
