Happy New Year Cards with Topflight Stamps

This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "New Year's". I went with a black, white and gold color theme that combined several different products.

The background is created with the Industrial Chic Lindy's Starburst Spray set. I also added some glittery stars using the Studio Light Starry Night and gold Glitter Paste. I cut the center panel using the Quirky Post die set.

Happy New Year with Topflight Stamps!

Hello I'm back again for Topflight Stamps! This week the designers are focusing on the new year. I created another New Year's card:

The AALL & Create Studded Stars stencil is perfect for creating a festive New Years background. I applied texture paste through the stencil to black cardstock and then sprinkled gold embossing powder over it. When it dried, I heat embossed. Then I just added the sentiment (from Go To Christmas Words) in the middle. I also splattered it with silver Glimmer Mist for some extra shine.

New Year's 2025 Card with Topflight Stamps

Merry Christmas! I know you aren't focused on January 1st yet, but it will be upon us soon! This week the designers are focusing on the new year. I created a New Year's card to give to a friend.

I spritzed Silver Dollar Prism Glimmer Mist through the AALL & Create Studded Stars stencil to create the background. Then I just added the sentiment (from Go To Christmas Words) and some die cut numbers. Easy!

Out With the Old, In With the New

Happy New Year everyone! I have some exciting news to share – I have joined the Design Team of The Funkie Junkie Challenge Blog! I am really looking forward to working with some stellar designers and making projects for the always interesting bi-weekly challenges. We are kicking off the year with the challenge, Out With the Old, In With the New. The challenge is to use something old from your stash and something new (did Santa bring you crafty supplies for Christmas?)

I created a New Year's card using some 'old favorites' from my supplies and a few new things that I didn't get to use during the holiday making season.

The Tim Holtz stamp sets Grunge Flakes and Reindeer Flight are oldies but goodies. The snowflake cluster from Reindeer Flight is a stamp I use again and again!

One of my "new" things is the Tim Holtz Snowflakes 3-D Impresslits Folder that I was able to get last month but hadn't used yet. I love that it cuts and embosses in one pass and has such great detail!

Here are a few peeks at the process of putting this card together:

The initial color layers of the background were made with various blue Distress Paints. Lots of 'smooshing' and flicking with water to take advantage of its water reactive properties. Then I stamped the snowflakes with Archival Inks. I wanted to tone the bright blues down a bit (and add some bling) so I sprayed the whole background with Distress Frosted Juniper Mica Stain.

I added sparkle to the 3-D snowflakes by spritzing them with Distress Resist Spray and then dusting with Dry Rock Candy Glitter. The little Glitter Dusters are handy for applying just a bit of glitter to a project.
