Card Sketch…

Well as you know from my previous post, Scrapping Everyday Miracles now has two options for the monthly challenge - a card or a layout. I just completed a card based on the layout and I want to share it with you! Here is the sketch from PageMaps:

I kept pretty close to the sketch because I like it so much. I created a card for friends that just had a little baby boy. It will go into the mail tomorrow!

I used all sorts of goodies from my stash, which is one of my goals this year - use up some of the stuff I already have. Don't forget the scrap twist - washi tape! I have a strip of brown polka dot tape at the top of the card. Let's see what you can do! There is still time to enter the challenge. You have until the end of the month and you'll be eligible for a great prize.

Sketch challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles

Oh, we have a great sketch challenge for you at Scrapping Everyday Miracles! Feast your eyes on this versatile sketch (I love PageMaps!)

In my quest to someday actually complete the baby albums of my sons, I chose some baby pics of Jon to use. (What a cutie!! And I don't think that is just a mother's bias ha ha)

This was a good stash buster of a layout. I used some Sassafrass paper and stamp set and raided my paper scrap folders. The misted background texture was created by sticking down some letter masks (Tim Holtz Ransom mask) and then spritzing with mist. I used Distress Paint on the plastic title letters (that stuff is GREAT on plastic!) Of course the scrap twist for the challenge is to use washi tape so I included the red polka dotted tape for a nice pop of color. Be sure to go check out the challenge at SEM. Link up your take on it and you'll be eligible for the prize. ALSO, there is a option make a card for the challenge too! The sketch for the card is there too.

Most of the supplies I used can be found at Inspiration Emporium. Use my code JUICE at checkout and save 10% off your order. Have fun creating!

Challenges!!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles has a couple of challenges going this month and I tackled the sketch challenge. The sketch is by the talented Tracey and the scrap twist was to use distressing. No problem, it went really well with my theme! Jon loved to rip up magazines and would make the hugest mess. He's pretty good at distressing things; I think it's a natural talent. Here is the sketch:

I flipped the sketch but mostly stuck with it. Here is my layout:

The second challenge is the Tattered Floral Challenge on Tim Holtz's blog. You need to use the Tattered Floral die (love this die!!) and make layered flowers out of any materials you choose and then use them as part of a project. I made my flowers out of aluminum tape covered cardstock and pages torn from a magazine. I used alcohol ink to colorize the metal parts and make them look grungy. Here are some extras that I'll use on another project (they are rather addictive to make!):

Go check out the challenges and see what everyone else has done. There are some really inspirational projects linked up!

Sketch Challenge!

It's time for another sketch challenge over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles! (my last one, sniff sniff) The sketch we're using is very versatile and perfect for that special single photo. The scrap twist is to use mixed alphas in your title.

I had a lot of fun with this one and had just the right photo to use. (I even swiped it out of a frame!) I also used only stuff from my stash because I'm really really trying to use what I have on hand already. Crazy I know…  So here is my little cutie pie Jon when he was only 12 months old and still had his wild and crazy hair. He was also a champion raspberry blower. They get big so fast!

We would love to see what you come up with using the sketch. If you link your layout up to the sketch post by Sept. 30th then you will be entered into the drawing for the Sept. prize. So head on over there and check it out! =)

Sketch challenge!

Hello everyone! Scrapping Everyday Miracles has the August sketch challenge up! Complete the challenge with the scrap twist (think stars), link it up to the post on the SEM blog, and you will be entered into the drawing for the great August prize from Artful Delight. It's a $40 gift certificate so you don't want to miss out on a chance to win that! Here is my take on the sketch:

I think it is amazing that I have managed to get one of the boys' birthdays scrapped not only in the actual year of the birthday, but not even a month after it happened! Hurray!! (That's never happened, lol.) So get on over to Scrapping Everyday Miracles to see the sketch and get scrappy…
