Let's get in gear!

For this month's card sketch at Scrapping Everyday Miracles, I indulged in my love of steampunk and gears (lots and lots of gears, lol). Here is the sketch I made:

And here is the card I made from it:

This is a birthday card for a friend. I'm glad I don't have to mail it - this thing is heavy!! For the background I layered strips of metal foil tape on a sheet of paper and then applied various layers of Distress Paint over the top. Once it was dry I lightly sanded it to distress it. Then I had lots of fun layering gear parts.

I also want to mention this month's challenge over at Inspiration Journal, Falling for Faux. Be sure to go check it out and you can link up your project there by the end of the month for a chance to win $50 to spend at Inspiration Emporium!

Most of the supplies I've used on my card can be found at Inspiration Emporium. Follow the links below and use my code JUICE to save 10% if you go shopping.

  1. Oh ...it's such a cool card. Love how you used LOTS of gears as a full background. I think I would have used some cardstock / grunge board gears die cut. Both to save on weight but also to save the rather expensive gears... LOL.
thanks a lot for sharing your lovely card.
