December Art with Heart Challenge

It's time for the December Art with Heart Challenge over at Eileen Hull's blog. The theme this month is Holiday Traditions and we want to see your projects! You can have a chance to win the Loaf Pan Die from Eileen's fabulous new Vintage Kitchen line. I used the Cookie Box Die to make a fancy gift box that doubles as a decor piece! I'm going to use it as a gift box for jewelry:

These boxes are really easy to put together and can be used for so many things! I think this one is a perfect base for my Christmas Tree. Here are some other views:

The lid is hinged and pops right open so you can stash the gift:

But wait, there's more! I'm doubling up this project with the Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge #17 – Woodlands & Tinsel Twine. This Cookie Box was just begging to have a Woodlands decorated tree put on it. (Truly a match made in heaven!) Linda over at Studio L3 has been hosting these fun challenges based on the techniques found in Tim Holtz's book (this one is on page 60). Go check it out for some serious inspiration.

This also fits the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge#7 Tic Tac Toe. I covered many of the categories with this one… Star, Patterned paper, Ribbon (tinsel twine) – Die, Stamps, Ribbon – Star, Glitter, Die. This is a fun challenge, be sure to check it out.

So here you have it, three great challenges you can participate in!
