Of course, it wouldn’t be a birthday celebration without prizes! Topflight Stamps is giving four lucky winners $50 Gift Certificates to the store. Let's take a look at the cards I made for our Hop:

I started off making the big one but had lots of pieces and background left so I made another smaller one too. =) The background was created using Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Shakers – Under the Sea #2 set. I wet watercolor paper and then sprinkled on the powders. Very cool! The festive birthday washi tape is from AALL & Create as is the die set I used (Skycrossed Paradise).

March in Miniature with Eileen Hull

The theme for this month is “March in Miniature” – what fun! Eileen Hull's Creative Team designers are interpreting it in various ways and thinking outside (or inside) of the box. Mine is inside of a book!

I carved out the inside of an old book in which I could build a little mini scene:

In the cover of the book, I cut a shape to match the window die from the Windowsill, Flowers & Vases Die Set. (I traced the die and cut the coverboard with a sharp Xacto knife.)

Eileen has so many fun mini elements in her various die sets. It was fun to build a little scene!

St. Patrick's Day with Topflight Stamps

This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is Anything Goes! My Mom's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day so I always make her an appropriately themed card to mark the occasion. This year's features the Grungy Birthday Words stamp from Visible Image and a host of AALL & Create die sets.

I stamped the background with Queen Bee Shimmer Pearl Ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. After that, I spritzed the background with Lindy's Rusty Lantern Lime and Steampunk Sepia from the Industrial Chic Starburst Spray Set. When it was all dry, I placed a clean piece of absorbent newsprint paper over the top and ironed it with my craft iron. This melts the embossing powder which wicks into the paper. (You have to peel the paper off quickly or it will stick!) This is a great technique to achieve a faux batik look.

Washi Tape Wonders with Topflight Stamps

This week at Topflight Stamps our product focus is on washi tape! Washi tape is such a versatile supply to have in your stash. It can be a great supporting accent to a project or it can be a main focus.

I fell in love with these two Lavinia washi tape designs – Tower of Tales and Book Bandits. So cute! They're doing the heavy lifting for this card for sure.

Inky Butterflies Birthday Card with Topflight Stamps

This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Anything Goes"! I decided to add to my birthday card stash with this week's card.

The base is a gel print background from my stash. I used the Crafty Individuals Trio of Inky Butterflies stamp and Twilight ink to stamp on top of it. I also embossed the butterfly image with clear embossing powder to give it some shine. The happy birthday sentiment (Go To Words) I embossed with gold embossing powder.
