Mixed Media Birthday Card with Topflight Stamps

This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Mixed Media". It's always fun to pull out different supplies and play around. I started off with a gel print for the background (it's good to have a print stash on hand!) I covered an AALL & Create stencil with watered down black paint to create a monoprint over that. I then added some texture paste through another AALL & Create stencil and covered it withWOW! Weathered Gold embossing powder. When the paste was dry, I heat embossed the powder.

Spooky Halloween Idea-ology Vignette – Simon Says Stamp Challenge

I'm in full Halloween crafting mode and was very happy to see that this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge theme this week is Halloween/Spooky. I've had this little vintage silver creamer (nicely beat up with great patina) for a long time and I knew it would be a perfect base for a Halloween project. I have all my Halloween Tim Holtz Idea-ology spread all over so it was easy to whip up a cute little vignette. Hot glue for the win!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Think Pink!

I discovered that Simon Says Stamp has challenges each week and decided to enter. It's always fun to have a theme to tailor your design to. This week it's "Think Pink". I wanted to try making a Halloween card and adding pink to it. (I also wanted an excuse to use the super cute embossing folder I got from them last month.)

I embossed a piece of peach cardstock and then blended orange and pink pearlized Distress Crayons. I also used pink cardstock and flicked it with Worn Lipstick Distress Spitz. Lots of pink! I'm going to send this card to the little girls of some family friends. Perfect! ;-)

Inky Halloween Card with Topflight Stamps

Hello there! This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Inks". The store carries a veritable rainbow of colors in different brands. Lavinia's Elements Ink Pads are some of my favorites – they blend beautifully.

I started with a shimmery background made with Lindy's Enchanted Forest Magicals powders. Over that, I used the Halloween House mask and Violet Chalk and Lime Punch Elements ink to blend an inky background. I stamped, watercolored and fussy cut out the cute characters from the AALL & Create Pumpkin Pals stamp set.

Fall is Here! Autumnal Card with Topflight Stamps

This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Anything Goes". I decided to make another leaf card using the AALL & Create Die Set Leafinitely Detailed because fall is my favorite season! I made backgrounds colored with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays and die cut the leaves out of them. In the background, I added some embossing ink through a stencil to add some texture and embossed it withWOW! Burnt Toffee embossing powder.

Steampunk Card with Topflight Stamps

Hello, this week at Topflight Stamps our theme is Anything Goes. I saw the new AALL & Create die set, Cog Engine and was inspired to make a steampunk themed card. I added bits from the emphemera sets Clipped Mailers and Funny Bone Funnies plus a stamped image. (AALL & Create Dashing Crow). For the background I used a piece of paper I marbled.

Halloween Shaker Card with Topflight Stamps

Hello there! This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Halloween/Fall". AALL & Create has a great new Halloween collection out and I decided to make a whimsical shaker card using the Frightful Fun die set and Boosentials stamp set. 

The background is a heavy piece of cardstock I inked and stamped on. I also gave it a light spritz of green mica spray from the Lindy's Haunted Halloween Starburst Sprays set. I glued in some die cuts from the Frightful Fun set (although I did leave one ghost loose to shake around inside). The edges have walls of foam tape to contain all the shaker bits.

Wonder Woman Junk Journal – Old Project, New Twist Part 2 with Eileen Hull

I'm back with the finished journal! For the month of August, Eileen Hull's Creative Team had the theme "Old Project, New Twist". Six years ago (!!) I started a Wonder Woman themed junk journal and didn't get much further than making the cover and a few pages. Oops! It had been languishing since then. Back then the largest journal die Eileen had was the original Sizzix Journal Die. I've collected so much ephemera to put in the journal I knew I wanted to start anew using the larger Full Size Journal Die! I showed you the cover at the beginning of the month and I finally finished the whole thing. Get ready to scroll…

Whew, there's a lot packed in here! 

Would you believe I still have ephemera left over? I'm going to finish the original smaller journal I started all those years ago lol.

Wait, there's more! I'm glad I redid this using the larger Full Size Journal Die. I could fit in much more.

Magical Butterflies with Topflight Stamps

This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Outdoors". I love seeing butterflies in my garden this time of year so I was inspired to make a card focusing on them. I used the AALL & Create die set Starflight to cut out the butterflies and arch shape out of heavy duty cardstock. I glued the butterflies down first, then, when dry, I spritzed it with water and Lindy's Magicals powders. I really like how it pooled in the nooks and crannies for some intense mica gleam.

The green background is colored with Emerald Isle PaperArtsy Infusions Dye crystals. I also used the Lavinia Laurel stencil to add the leafy texture.
