Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge #10

I'm almost sliding in under the wire on this challenge, but I completed it in time! The tenth Compendium of Curiosities challenge is to alter an Assemblage Clock (as found on page 33 of Tim Holtz's book A Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 3). You can follow along with the challenges using your own copy of the book. Check out all the Challenge 10 details (and inspiring examples from the Curiosity Crew) at the Studio L3 blog. Without further ado, here is my version of the clock:

The scene inside is filled with an assortment of found natural objects, diecuts and really fun retro mushrooms I found at the thrift store.

Here's a closer look at the background panel:

I just love this Aspen Tree stencil and I chose warm, earthy Distress Ink colors to set my fall woodland mood.

Here's a detail of the top:

More leaf diecuts! Did I mention that fall is one of my favorite seasons? ;-) I hope you've been inspired! Thanks to the Funkie Junkie Boutique for sponsoring Challenge #10!

I hope that you are ready to get creative too! Most of the supplies I used for this can be found at Inspiration Emporium. Follow the links below and use my code JUICE to save 10% if you go shopping. I will also point out that US shipping is always $5 and international shipping is just $10.

I am also entering this into the Eclectic Paperie September challenge.

  9. Oh Lisa...this is darling! I love your stenciled tree background. I've not seen anything like that and it's very nice! Your silhouetted fairy sitting on the mushroom in the foreground really is amazing. The little woodland scene is adorable and I also love how you've finished the exterior of your clock. Those autumnal leaves up on the bells tie everything together so perfectly. Thanks for sharing your art with all of us at CC3C. <3 Candy
