70 Years!!!

Today is a very special day. My grandparents are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary! They are special people and we had a big family party last night to celebrate this milestone. Here they were, 70 years ago:

Fred & Marie Calkins • June 2nd, 1943

I wanted to create a really special card for them commemorating their anniversary. I knew that making a 3-D album card with Karen Burniston's awesome die would be perfect. Here is the front:

And here is the inside:

Normally a card made with the Accordion Album die is square but Karen shows how to use the die to make a double high card here. It's not hard at all! I hope you are inspired to try it out.

This month, the challenge at Inspiration Journal is all about brides, weddings, and anniversaries. We would love to see what inspiring projects you can make with this theme. Go check out the details and link up your project there by the end of June and you'll have a chance to win $50 in Emporium Dollars to spend in the store!

Most of the supplies I used for this can be found at Inspiration Emporium. Follow the links below and use my code JUICE to save 10% if you go shopping.

  3. Hello Lisa,
70 years.... I bet they have had their good and their bad times in life, but they show that love is a verb and they made it together!
I wish them some more years together in happiness!!
Your card is a great tribute and i think they will cherish it because it's made with love, especially for them.

I like that it is elongated(haven't seen this before). It makes the photo and the card with 70 on, more in the middle and attracts your eye to it.

I bet it stands perfect on their dresser!
