Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge #12!

Well here we are at the start of a brand new year! Hard to believe I know. Do you have dreams and goals for 2012? If so, you can join in our current challenge and scrap about them (and have a chance to win a fabulous prize!) Check out all the details here. For my take on it, I scrapped about the dreams I have for my son Jon. We were very excited to win a brand new iPad 2 and we are really hoping that it will be a wonderful therapy tool for him. See below:

The journaling reads:
We have heard about how the iPad can be a tremendous and near-miraculous therapy tool for children with motor delays and communication problems. But, we didn’t have one. And they are expensive. We didn’t know if we should somehow try to get our hands on one, but then worried it would just be another waste of money on something that really didn’t work for Jon. Then last Friday Matt purchased two raffle tickets for his company’s big Christmas party give-away they have every year. And this year he won an iPad2. The thought had crossed my mind that just maybe God would see fit to have Matt’s name drawn for the iPad. And He did! We know it is God’s hand working in our lives. And my hope and dream is that this tool will be the thing that really helps Jon progress and gain skills. We are researching the best apps to get. Our mega-tough Survivor iPad case is in the mail. So we will soon see. And I am dreaming, hoping, and very thankful.

This is a hybrid (although mostly digital) layout. The little iPad card that came in the package is the only "traditional" part. I popped it off the printout with foam squares.

I hope you enjoy my layout and be sure to head on over to Scrapping Everyday Miracles to check out what's happening there.

  2. Congrats on the new iPad. I personally adore my iPad for my 4 year old. She did not start speaking until 2 and had some serious speech delays. I suggest to only download fun learning games on it if you want him to use it for learning, otherwise angry birds will win. There are so many great apps out there that your child won't realize they are learning. And a great case is very important, my little girl has thrown it more than once and it is still going strong.

  5. Thanks Barb! That's all done in Photoshop. The iPad card is the only thing not digital.
